Following on from the update in March we now have a total of over 3,300 homes fitted with water saving equipment, mainly in the Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Stratford and Coventry areas.
Estimates are that this is already saving enough water to meet the daily needs of 308 people. That’s almost 40,000 litres of water a day, equivalent to 4,387 average sized buckets, 197 large water butts or 165 wheelie bins.
Water saving products installed
So far, 3,864 items have been fitted:
| Water saving product | Number installed |
| Water efficient showerhead | 591 |
| Shower save adapters | 14 |
| Save-a-flush bags | 108 |
| Tap inserts (twin pack) | 12 |
| Shower timers | 2,626 |
| ecoBETAs (dual flush conversion kits) | 20 |
| Water saving guides | 493 |
| Grand total | 3,864 |
With installations now part of routine work we should see these figures continue to rise.
Edited on 22 May: Water saving incorrectly stated as 4,000 litres per day, rather than 40,000
